Curious how the market is doing in Onslow County?
Here are a couple of charts that show absorption rates for
resale homes and
new construction homes.
An absorption rate shows how many homes can be bought or sold in a particular market. In other words, how many months it will take to sell a home in a particular price range in a particular market based on the number of homes that have sold and the number of homes currently on the market for sale.

How to read it?
- The top section shows New Construction homes and the bottom section shows Resale homes.
- The first column shows by price.
- In Yellow is the number of homes that have sold in the past 12 months and a calculation of how many homes sold each month in the past 12 months.
- In Blue is the also the number of homes that have sold in the past 12 months and a calculation of how many homes sold each month in the past 12 months.
- Then the same in Pink.
- Next you will see the total number of homes currently for sale in that particular price range/type.
- The final three columns show how many months of inventory there are in respect to 12 - 6 - 3 month timelines.
